When we started this journey we hoped to travel in 9 months (best case scenario our social worker told us). It now looks like we will be lucky to have our dossier in China within this time frame.

To be very honest my heart Just. Plain. Hurts.
I know and DO believe there is a perfect timing but some days I JUST WANT MY LITTLE GIRL HOME.
How do you miss someone so much you've never met. It brings tears to my eyes.
Lia's last care package arrived safely at the orphanage and they sent us a message! I can't tell you how excited we were to hear from them!

That was when it hit me. The brick wall that knocked me right out of bloggie land. They wanted to know when we would be coming to bring Lia home.
Yep you guessed it, popped my happy little ladybug bubble because I couldn't even begin to give them an idea of when. I realized we are so close yet so far away.
For those of you who do not know, Lia's orphanage does a great job of trying to prepare the children for their upcoming adoptions so this question is not out of the ordinary. We've been sending care packages since October so they must think we will be coming soon but sad to say we are not.
I pray each day the Lord will prepare Lia's heart for her adoption and the difficult transition to America. I often tell myself maybe this is why the long wait. It helps.
We will be going for our biometrics this Friday which is another thing we can cross off the list so I really do need to stay positive. I hope we will get approval from U$iCS soon after. If so everything can be off to China early June which would put us traveling in late Sept early Oct.
We are excited to have a letter translated this past month that came from Lia's orphanage. We learned some new information about her story which we will keep private. It is after all her story to share. We also learned the e-mail address to her orphanage. We are excited to be sending Lia letters more often and HOPE to hear back from her. (Maybe even see her smiling chubby cheeks in some new pictures if we are lucky!) Wish us Luck my heart could use to see her face again.
Other good news. I mentioned in my last post that I've started a new business to help bring Lia home. We are going to party with a purpose my friends. I'm officially a beauty consultant with Mary Kay now! I hope to bring in some extra funds for our travel expenses. How cool is it that 50% of everything I sell will go directly towards bringing Lia home and increasing our orphanage donation.
Our recent contact with the orphanage informed us they are in need of computers to aid in their paperwork. Jason and I would love to help them with this. They have taken such good care of our daughter it's a small token of our appreciation. It feels great to be around such supportive women and working towards bringing Lia home. The ladies I've met have been a balm to my spirit. I feel this is where I need to be right now for support and positive activity during this Looooooooong. . . . . . . . . wait. Wish me Luck and please pray this is a blessing to our family.

Thanks for sharing 'where you have been' - hopefully this is the dawn of your 'dark night' and from here things will look up! We know oh so well the issues with the various governments - but the time does pass and the people do get the work done - and you will fly one day!
