Gentlemen start your engines…..

Tomorrow is a big day for Lia! We will be assigned a case worker to complete our home study. In a process that seems painfully slow at times this is one step closer to Lia we are happy to take.

Nathan and Emily and their friends have been cooking up great plans for various fundraisers (including a quarter drive filling up M&M mini containers with quarters) to help bring Lia home. For weeks, we've discouraged their ideas for fear of seeming inappropriate or focusing too much on our needs instead of someone else. The kids are creating such a stir, that parents are now asking us about it. I suppose it's been my issue. Pride? Fear? Who knows!

I think I've come to the conclusion that

#1) This is really not about ME at all. It's about a little girl in China that needs to find her home and get life changing medical treatment. AND

#2) This is an opportunity for a group of kids to be a part of something huge - to feel like they are changing their world. Who am I to stop them?

NEXT STEP: We will begin our home study with our assigned case worker and begin moving bedrooms in the house to prepare the way for Lia. Financially, we are needing $2550 for the home study fee. So, $2550 in 2 months or less. That's the goal. Wish us luck and if you feel moved to do so pray for us.
